Members of ASBOA have diverse backgrounds of education and experience, including recognized accounting designations, university of college degrees, certificates or many years of on-the-job training. Registation as profession under the Professions and Occupational Association Registration Act (POARA) has established a recognizable standard of education and experience common to Certified School Business Officials (CSBO).
A certified (CSBO) member is a regular member of the Association who has completed the education and experience requirements as set out in the School Business Officials regulations (37/2004) and has had their application approved in accordance with these regulations.
All Certified members are "regulated members" and are governed by the Professional and Occupational Associations Act and School Business Officials Regulation as well as the Association bylaws.
